Riho Joonas TRUMMIPÄEV is held for the fourth time in the Rootsi-Kallavere village museum. If you have learned percussion, this is the right place to come. We invite you to further develop your skills and discover new and exciting things. Even a complete newcomer or beginner can take part in the drum day – you just have to keep your eyes and ears open and be brave!
The drum day ends with a concert featuring performances by students and teachers, as well as the Aleksandra Kremenetsky Trio feat. Jaak Sooäär album presentation. During the concert, the village’s museum premises and cafe are open.
You can learn how to play the small drum and traditional style under Kaspar Ernesaksa. Making music in a drum kit and band under the guidance of Aleksandra Kremenetsk, together with Ara Yaralyan, Jaan-Alar Jaanson and Jaak Sooäär, who conduct a jazz ensemble workshop. Associate professor of the Academy of Music and legendary percussionist/pedagogue Rein Roos introduces the principles of timpani playing to young people. Marilin Kaprei shares knowledge about playing together in Brazilian music and samba instruments. Ivo Lain guides vibraphone, marimba and xylophone ensembles, where advanced enthusiasts can also learn to play with four mallets (Stevens).
The concert is in two parts and starts at 18:00. You can come to the cafe for a treat before and after the concert.
The drum day participation fee is 30 euros, which includes lunch and a snack.
